The precipitation sensor is used in conjunction with a downstream sun shading control unit for precipitation monitoring.
This serves to prevent damage to the sun shading product caused by precipitation such as rain, hail or snow.
Function
In the event of precipitation in the form of drizzle, rain, hail or snow, a switching signal is triggered by the precipitation sensor. The switching threshold of the device is factory
is set to a typical value at the factory and can be adjusted by the user to the requirements of their sun shading system and the local climatic conditions after commissioning.
If the sensor surface is dry, the switching signal is reset after an adjustable switch-off delay. The sensor surface is heated.
The temperature of the sensor surface is kept constant at approx. 40° C and thus prevents triggering at high humidity and icing at sub-zero temperatures.
After precipitation detection, the sensor surface dries again quickly due to the heating.
